Sorry my link ref did not take, but you know where to go.
I do know what you mean, and you and BHB are probably correct. It was just an interesting effect. Even in person, it looked that way. If I had been able to position myself a little farther to the right, I think it would have cleared things up, but access was blocked by a fence / barrier.

Rich... I have been thinking about this and I might have the answer, I think the last row of seating does back up to the press box wall... except at each end. There is a pile of red steel that might be used to finish off the area that we see as the gap at the end of the press box. I watched them move the steel and it has the appearance of decking. Just my guess..

Looks good. I didn't realize that the lights would look quite like that, the artist's rendering was a little off in that regard, not in a bad way, just a little misleading. With the light poles the way they are you'd wonder if they would put a bunch of flag poles up there now and fly the six national title flags. That would be a good look.

72 Hen,
Perhaps the gaps at either end are for the TV crews/equipment :?:

looks like they saved and reused the lights that were already there. which would make sense....if they were not broken why replace them....

Those areas very well might be for cameras. However, they can't stand on air. I was talking about filling the gaps with the red steel. I guess we will know soon enough.

Agreed, good decision if that's the case.

And of course, if they are the same light banks, they were probably given an overhaul/update over the last year.....

Lighting stadiums requires uniformity. Last years messed up lighting for the DelState game was example one; replace none or replace them all.

There were two men in a suspended basket who spent a lot of time replacing bulbs and re-positioning bulbs after the poles were in place.

Agree on that as well - couldn't update two banks of lights and leave the rest the way they were. Considering that we don't play a lot under the lights anyway (don't get me started on that) then it was a good idea to reuse the light banks we had.

Well, looks like the Concourse will be quite different, basically enclosed between the WAC and the stadium. Did I see a Klondike Kate's sign there? The Fight Song will really reverberate through that space (if they continue the band entry tradition).
