Adams was released today per his Insta post.

Panthers wanted to go in another direction.

I wonder if he will retire. Seems like he is still playing at a fairly high level. I’d love to see him join the Hens coaching staff when he retires. There’s an opening now with Coach Rojas leaving.

hmmmm....play in t he NFL? Position coach at Delaware...... It''s prob a tough choice to make......

I get that he is a smart football guy and would probably make a great coach, but he had 75 tackles, 28 assists, and 3 picks last year. Ranked 15 of all DBs in the NFC. I would not be looking to turn in my 1.5 million paycheck for a 100K position coach position at Delaware...

I’m sure he wouldn’t do that if he still wanted to play in the NFL but if he wanted to retire that’s different.

I mean the guy is gonna be 38 in a month. Comes a time when everyone has to call it quits. The fact that's he's played for 15 years is nothing short of amazing. Would love to see him come back to Newark in some capacity. I could see Mike being an incredible recruiter.

Says he wants to play. Had a good first half and then slowed down some. The second to last game (I think) he made a horrific mistake that even the head coach commented on publically and that was probably his undoing. Dave Gettleman is in NY and signed him once, maybe Pops has a homecoming this year. We need safety help.

Time to leave while you still have your health.

He's been pretty clear he wants to play and clearly he's playing at a fairly high level. Aside from Balt's argument, which is enough to play if he can on its own, the Dude wants to play. If he has the exact same year next year that he did this year he will eclipse 1,000 tackles for his career. He can still play.

Unfortunately what he's not going to be doing is coaching. He's going the Gannon route and has talked about the transition from the field to TV in many of the interviews I've read.

Go Pops...my favorite UD player of all-time.
