Oh, thanks. I forgot that having some posters on GoHens hear about such things makes it official.
Darien & Burton were both previously mentioned in the News Journal . Does that count?

Danny announced at Mitchell that we had 2 coming aboard for spring and 2-3 possible for Summer.

That would be hearsay coming from the top ??

SussexJay 's board is always based on some type of verification.
And Kyler Murray was going to be an Oakland A.

As we all know, nothing is over until it's over, and in this case the transfers are in Newark in class.

I think that's all anyone was saying, other than HZN who would like a few more transfers as ... surprise ... I do too.

We have retired his name from the board until 6/1

What’s your take on it or is there no emjoi for that? Love guys that take shots and offer nothing. If I’m wrong about our DL play and not having guys playing their natural positions show me. Considering we are switching to a 4-3 while losing no one on our DL I’m going to assume we don’t have the personnel to do that. Our young LB’s got a lot of playing time and looked the part and if Kolby is being moved to MLB why wouldn’t we stick with a defense our staff is most comfortable with and that we have recruited for the last three classes? Maybe there is an emjoi for that response for that one.

I like this class but I am concerned about the roster especially if the transfers coming (or not) in the summer are not expected to make an immediate impact like what’s been mentioned on the board. If we are banking on an OC to fix everything after losing the talent we did last year is troubling to say the least.

Great job recruiting, poor job with transfers. We need a WR, we need a LT, and we need someone to get to the QB.
We have a 3 star and 2 star receivers coming in. What else to you want? We have a great in coming class. A lot of talent.
That is a lot to ask of incoming freshmen...we have a host of 3 star recruits who haven't even sniffed the field in three years. We lost a lot and I think leaving the position as is, is very risky and I'm sorry if I seem unconvinced but I've heard for the last 8 years how we shouldn't worry about glaring holes in our rosters only to have them bite us in the end. This looks like it could be one of those positions.
That being said, I hope I am wrong and you are right coz whoever is playing QB is going to need receivers who can get open and make plays very, very quickly.

"We have a 3 star and 2 star receivers coming in. What else to you want? We have a great in coming class. A lot of talent."

He wants instant gratification and that's not going to happen. Under the new system, the real impact transfers are going to be minimal. The transfer portal has changed FCS big time. We couldn't advance in the playoffs because JMU has a better program. NDSU didn't have better impact transfers then us ,. they had a better program. Not rocket science. Last season we had collectively some of the best talent I've seen in a long while. Somehow, they couldn't put it together on the field consistently

Place the blame on the players who didn't get it done and the coaches who didn't give them the ability to ge it done. Our OC was fired over the situation. which gives us all hope that change is coming with our new staff members. Supplementing our talent with a RB & OL is part of the plan but we do have a 3star RB transfer on our roster already who has contributed nothing yet. Will he step up? Will Lee blossom into something special? Let's count on who's here rather than who we want here.

Players have to improve every year and coaches have to put them in a position to win every game. That's trite but true. Good programs produce good teams consistently... that's the goal. Until we can raise the level of the program we will be struggling like we will be this year. Doesn't mean we can't be successful though.

2019 is not about the freshman recruiting class, it's about taking the steps to improve the program and that's exactly what our staff was being praised for by Hero. You put enough good classes together and coach them properly then we are back where we belong.

As Mac Brown says the three most important things are recruiting recruiting recruiting,,,,We have on paper a fantastic class...Paper doesn't win games...We need to create more havoc defensively and start playing down hill defense..We need to play in their back field and we don't do it....We do not collapse the pocket and we don't do it..A qb can step up all game long...Did you guys see what the Rams did to Brady..They collapsed the pocket all game and Brady could not step up...he was back legging throws all game...

I respectfully disagree that WR is a position of great need. We have at least four receivers who have shown talent: Coleman has played quite a bit over the last two years and has done well, Pitts and McElhennie have played a little and appeared to have talent, and Haverstrom showed good speed in the play he made in the playoff game against JMU. We have three potentially very talented freshmen coming in: Townsend, Miller, and Budd. That’s seven WRs who have either already demonstrated talent at this level or have considerable potential. Personally, I would have liked to have seen some of these players on the field more last year. I don’t think we will have a drop off in talent or production at this position in 2019. To me, the greater need is RB, DB, OL, and pass rushing DL.

Agree with you . Pitts redshirted by his request and Coleman & McElhennie showed real promise in practice and briefly on the field. RF Haverstrom is a true burner . The weakness at that position is the backups where Amachi , who also redshirted is the only other that has any real potential. A soph, 3 jrs & 1 rf. If we can get away with redshirting the 3 newbie frosh utilizing the 4 game max rule, we will be loaded in 2020 & ongoing. That IS the objective.

We have fans who continually discount potential or don't necessarily recognize it. According to what I'm reading from the staff we have 5 potential starters at WR as we speak, none freshmen, and we're not looking for any more in the portal.

A Jerry Rice becomes available then I'm sure we'll reconsider.

Along with a RB, add impact WR to the list!

Brisett would fill the need, maybe some lingering connection with Rocco staff?

Getting Farinela back is kind of like getting the needed OL
Transfer, that is good news

The only returning WR that we’ve seen on Saturday is Coleman, Some nice potential on roster
but potential Hasn’t created nearly enough offense in Newark for way to long.

The decision has been made to try Burton at WR.

Probably a long shot but could compete for PT right away. Not wanting to sit after a red-shirt year could nudge him toward FCS.

Just an FYI since CAA related, I read in today’s local paper that Air Force Academy QB Beau English is transferring to Richmond. English was strongly competing for the #2 AFA job this year but is in the same class as the starting QB. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Forgot to mention that Beau English was a DeMatha HS product and wanted to play closer to home. His father played and graduated from Air Force Academy as well.

Tomorrow at 5:00 Will Knight will make his official announcement. He was placed on the Transfer Portal yesterday after notifying the ODU staff he was leaving.

It's been no secret around the area that since the season ended he has suggested he will be moving back to Smyrna to become a Blue Hen. All my sources agree but he was also the same high school player who originally committed to UD then bolted south.

Stay tuned!

Henderson and Knight were one of the best Delaware HS backfields ever. I am looking forward to seeing the official announcement.
