Coaching Changes

So we have Miami, Houston and Texas Tech all available as today.

Interesting to see who will land these jobs.

What do the Texas Tech, Miami, or Houston job opening have to do with Delaware football? Is Danny Rocco leaving for any of those jobs?

Seems like a perfectly logical and reasonable question.

There is a board on here dedicated to things non-UD related.

No to Miami: Temple coach leaves after less than three weeks. Career record 0-0.

Temple is a coaching merry-go-round. They always seem to land on the right foot though with replacements.

On the bright side for Temple they’ve made $6.5mil in the past 3 weeks - most P5 teams don’t see that kinda bowl $.
Rocco is done, what’s even the point anymore?

Post whatever you like UD...It is good football talk....As for Temple it is life in the G5 and FCS..It will not change....,Temple will come up w a new coach and it may work out better... How about Diaz hired local St Joe high school head coach...Now what? Does Diaz bring him to Miami? Awful....Temple will land on their feet...You have to wonder if Ambrose turns UD Into an offensive juggernaut how long will he be here? Unfortunately it is what it is....and its life in the G5 and FCS...,

Temple will receive $6.5 million from losing two coaches - $2.5 million from Georgia Tech for Geoff Collins & $4 million from Miami for Manny Diaz,

They seem to have a revenue generating model figured out

I always stated that if Delaware ever decided to compete head-to-head for coaches/athletes at the same D1 level as Temple, Delaware wins. While Temple will always be a stepping stone school located in the armpit of Philadelphia, Delaware could be a high exposure destination school. It is a matter of choice.

The impact players at Temple aren't coming to Delaware when they can get the exposure on national TV and bowl games at Temple. It is all about exposure. They've been on ESPN 8 or 9 times this year. Delaware chooses not to play at that level ..... smh

Its no different for UD all team... If they go 11 and 0 next season with a deep play off run the big boys will come a calling...Its the nature of the beast...Now Rocco may not want to leave but he would be the exception rather than the rule...Like I said if we average 38 points a game will Ambrose be here long? Probably not....

Temple is resilient...Watching all the extra curricular activities these kids get to join In on was fun to see..Including snow boarding, water activities, contests, great food, first class accommodations. Watching the Michigan and Florida players visit and playing with terminally ill kids was fantastic..,It was heart warming....

Temple will land on their feet....

Joe,
It just frustrates me because I know if we ever decided to go head to head with Temple, we win. Look at all the advantages we have over Temple. Not hard to see. We could be the top dog in this region.

It could be us enjoying extra curricular activities these kids get to join ".Including snow boarding, water activities, contests, great food, first class accommodations" at bowl games.

As a Delaware supporter, It just frustrates me, Joe, There seems to be a lack of vision as to "what could be". You want students and community involved, get Delaware football exposed consistently on ESPN an Sportcenter as Temple does. Not to mention that it would help recruiting and help to get the "speed" athletes in here that you always refer to.

To your knowledge, has there ever been a feasibility analysis done on the impact of us moving up to FBS?

We really could no doubt about it..Even more so in hoops where we really missed the boat...We turned down an invite to the A10 but it started long before this.,,.,....Wouldn't it be nice to see South Florida or Central Florida in Newark.....Once upon a time The Sporting News called the UD Temple rivalry the third best on the East coast w Army Navy and Penn st Pitt as the top 2..I have been to a few bowl games and they are big fun,.,..It is a great reward for these kids for all their hard work...It is real simple just ask the players where they rather be FCS our G5 FBS....It is what it is and I would be rooting for the Hens if they played in the flight A conference....,

Well another great day in store today as a handful off good games are on tap...

Watching those kids faces when the players were playing with them was priceless....
