CAA Stadiums...RANKED!

Postby WMSportsBlog on Wed Aug 09, 2017 9:40 pm

Yes, we are from the Tribe. But we thought folks around the CAA might want to read...and argue with us 8) as we break down each CAA Stadium and rank them from 1-12. Feel free to comment on what YOU think are the best/worst stadiums in the CAA.

Is it football season yet? Good luck this year!

I don't blame you for ranking Delaware Stadium 7th but I think you have to factor in if a stadium has a track. I've been to all but Elon and Stony Brook and being that far from the field has an impact on your view of the game.

And at JMU, the only things they are missing are hand rails on their steep away side and a police presence to keep the students from throwing steamers at the injured players on the away team bench. :D

UD 7th outta 12. Sorry, not buying that at all. Zable Field 2nd. Come on now.
Let's once again play the hard, physical, dominating football that we have been known for.

John

I'd still put us 2nd. W&M and UNH have done a good job with their upgrades but our attendance still far surpasses them and our facilities, although not new are still well ahead of everyone except JMU.

Our tailgating ranks 1 in my book.

I have been to Zable many many times back to 1976 and to put that place 2nd outta 12 is a joke.

Delaware just by size is a top 3 stadium in the CAA.

W&M and Villanova are virtually the same stadium - besides the second deck put on down in Williamsburg last year.

Delaware Stadium should be 2nd. Don't get me wrong, I'm as ready as anyone for a stadium renovation, but in the end just spending money on a new or renovated small stadium with minimal attendance doesn't make it a great venue. Delaware Stadium is a great venue despite it's obvious negatives...

Go Hens!!

Good try from the Tribe. Have to agree with the guys from Delaware. I've been to most of these stadiums. Anyone who can't hold at least 15,000 fans is a non-starter. Richmond looks pretty and Zable is much improved. But, they're high school stadiums. JMU is clearly #1. Great job by those guys through the years. Delaware is by far and wide, next. You just can't beat the atmosphere, hedges, excellent turf and 22,000 capacity. And, no one except JMU tailgates like Delaware because they just don't have the space. Stony Brook is my wife's university. Cute little stadium. Not great though.

Visitor sides must have been exempt from consideration. With no 40-50 yd line seats in 1/2 the stadium can Zable be considered #2? Just askin'

The tracks in many stadiums is a great point and then there is the matter of concessions. Don't forget to enjoy a Delaware micro-brew while you are watching your Tribe Oct 14.

Save Stony Brook, I've seen them all; we ain't #7
