In doing so, Flacco became just the second quarterback ever to beat both Manning and Brady in the same postseason and he did it in spectacular fashion.

Against Manning, he overcame two back-breaking special teams touchdowns and threw for 331 yards and three touchdowns. Then this weekend against Brady, he goes for 240 yards and three touchdowns. Keep in mind the context here -- he outplayed two of the best quarterbacks to ever play the position, and he did it back-to-back weeks. And he did it on their home fields.

Joe's the man! He has the strongest football throwing arm on the planet and he can put it where he wants. 2006 and 2007, we quit TG an hour early just so we could go in to the Tub and watch in awe as he warmed up throwing every type of pass imaginable. The rainbow pass was my favorite. Gannon was great, EDD is great, but Joe is the greatest talent ever to play for a UD team.

And on another note, Gino must be enjoying this tremendously. First year in the NFL and he's played in playoff games including the Conf Championship and now on to the SB. Enjoy Gino because there are no guarantees you will return. Although, with Joe at QB, the chances are better than normal.

That's all. Pales in comparison to having the 2 worst QBR's since they were calculated as Skippy Payless points out on the Skip Springer show.

No, the Baltimore Ravens beat them. As good as Joe or any other of these guys are, they have not and cannot beat the other time by themselves. BTW, best to "ever to play the position" is a bit of a stretch.

Skip tried, but he just couldn't let it go...But he said it, if Joe wins the SB he will consider him elite. I don't like Stephen A. Smith at all, but at least he has the education enough to admit when he is wrong...

Go Joe.

Joe gets less credit because when he beats a team from "sans Jacksonville & Tennessee the worst pro football town in America" (that was for you 00  ) that can't win anything without cheating it diminishes Flacco's accomplishments. The best thing Brady has done since defeating the Eagles in the SB was marrying Giselle.

Flacco should be feeling very good right now, he's one of 2 QB's left playing & he's going to get paid big bucks next season one way or the other.

I never thought I'd see the day & will be shocked if they take action, but the NFL is reviewing Brady's 2Q slide/kick of Ed Reed. Let me say this from someone who grew up playing baseball, if Brady slid like that in a baseball game the benches would've emptied.

Couldn't believe Brady throwing away the ball when he had a clear path to run for the first down. Think it was the third quarter. Guess Giselle cut off his gazoons.

To a list that includes Flacco, Gannon and EDD, I would like to add John Grant. Its been about 14 years since he left UD but is still playing professional lacrosse at a high level. There may have been better individual lax players in the world but how do you match that longevity? I really enjoyed seeing him and Gannon together on the stadium turf being honored for their induction into the UD hall of fame.

Joe certainly is the man but if you're ranking is based on athletic performance at UD there is no comparison to the accomlishments of Elena. The best thing about Joe is he continued to improve throughout his career. If he showed the potential at Pitt that he did in his senior year they never would have allowed him to leave. EDD has stood out on the national stage ever since the first day she enrolled as a Blue Hen.

Let me knock wood or whatever superstition killer is appropriate, but the other amazing thing about JF is that I don't remember him ever missing even a play because of a ding --and he has take some real shots over the years. Very sturdy guy.

Ed reed's groin should be fined for trying to injure Tom brady's foot.

Eff Ed Reed. He attempts to take out players heads and knees every game. Nice to see a QB take a shot at that azzhole. I would love to see more Offensive players take shots at Defensive players!
