c'mon Balti, more to coaching than working the press, just win some more games

I don't know, sometimes coaches give you that sense about them. I do not get an aggressive confident fire about him. I got a sense of nervousness and that I am not impressed with.

Meh...we were in for a long 3-4 years, anyway, coaching change or no.

This at least offers the promise of change...rather than same old, same old.

So long as we're not treated to "I've got to do a better job and make sure that we play better."

So, short of Knute Rockne and Mr. lombardi, who would you have been happy with?

Someone who spoke with confidence and fire. he didn't. he sounded apprehensive and nervous. That is not a quality I look for in a Division 1 football coach.

He can sound like Kermit-the-frickin'-frog if he wins.

I was at the press conference. I was very impressed by Coach Brock. He's very energized, enthusiastic, and very humble. He has a beautiful family - 5 children. It was time for a change and I am very excited for the 2013 season.

How much control of the systems do the coordinators actually have? Do they bring their own concepts or do they implement what the HC wants?

I'd like to see TexasHen and Henroid invite Brock to join them on the aforementioned committee. This guy has 5 kids!?!?

I'm excited for a fresh perspective and I'm happy that one of the focal points is attacking the opponents defense. Keeler once told us that was going to be his philosophy, and he lost it. If Brock can keep the attacking philosophy and deliver, this will have been a terrific move.

Make it happen Dave!

I thought the Q&A session with the press was supposed to start at 3:15. Don't we get to see that?

Depends. There have been HC's bring in OC's just to run a certain kind of offense (particularly when the HC has little or no offensive experience)

Generally, you find HC's with backgrounds in O hire OC's who want to run the same basic systems, unless the HC wants to move in a different direction. That's not common.

Not sure how you could at least not be impressed with his honesty... I think that this statement of his summarizes it pretty good...

“Thanks for trusting me with such a proud and historic program,” Brock said. “I believe with this opportunity comes tremendous responsibility. I will fulfill that responsibility.”

Seems like a quality guy with a nice family. Welcome to the Blue Hens Coach Brock, we wish you all the best!

An AD that fires a coach who brought his team to the National Championship 3 times in 10 years so he can hire his own patsie makes me sick to my stomach, but this is not Brock's fault so we need to give him as much a chance as we would any new coach :|
Welcome Coach Brock: May you have as much success, or more, as your last four Predecessors.
