Why would we be excited about a candidate that rutgers fans seemingly would be glad to see go?

Cronyism flatulationism! Doesn't matter to me! IMO the program is now better off then it was 2 weeks ago! I'm behind Brock or whoever! The king is dead....long live the king! In fact, I might even renew my season tickets just to show my support!
It's always been my philosophy that it doesn't matter if the glass is half full or half empty......... It simply means there's more room for Captain Morgan

From what I have seen, all of the guys listed have a "Power I and play-action pass" kind of philosophy". That's cool by me; I believe in running the ball early and often from whatever formation you want. Spread, I formation, Wing-T, Flexbone, Daffy Duck, whatever... The big games are played in the winter, and the big boys run the ball a ton (Alabama from power sets, Oregon from spread sets, etc...)

That being said, Cohen's experience here includes the recruiting territory and I loved his defenses back in the day. Brock has been recruiting I-A kids, so he might not be well tuned to "which kids are going to slip to I-AA". In I-AA, you've gotta sift through the kids who aren't getting all the I-A scouting looks, making it alot harder to find the RIGHT guys.

The only date EZ gave was before the Feb NLI signing date. I agree today or tomorrow we will know and it has been talked about endless here that this would be the week, but EZ never said that.

Hiring a BlueHen isn't cronyism ?

Not if you've been a Blue Hen for 90 days.

As far as the, "why would we want a guy that the Rutgers message boards types don't want?' question:
Have you actually read those boards? They are filled with all the same kinds of dopes that all message boards have, including ours.

Random thoughts:

I do find it interesting that UD and RU have this strange connections with coaches moving forth, and maybe back. It's a long list of UD connections that have moved to Rutgers. KC must have done a pretty good job of hiring assistants over the years for this to be happening. Ironically, other schools may have found his hiring decisions to be more credible than actually taking the man himself.

We usually get a leak as to what is happening. We really had no leak with KC being on the chopping block, but later got a credible leak from a new poster about it in the CSI: Newark thread.

I am not so sure that it is Brock, despite the rumors at the Bob last night, and maybe especially because there were some media blogs about him, as I am unsure as to the access to the program that the blogger may have right now. We did hear that Garrett was out of Dallas, but no more on that rumor front. Hmmm.

Whomever it is, I will be interested in seeing the hiring decisions on assistants, as well as what we hear from the team and recruits in tweets, etc. as to their feelings. For me, regardless, I will fully support the man.

The next few hours will be interesting.

True indeed. But couple the lack of enthusiasm from Rutgers fans with less than stellar results and one should be cautious.

Unlike the stock market, past performance is USUALLY indicative of future success.

That's a fair statement. So guess which one we're going to get!
Be careful of the words you say,

which one's you'll have to eat!
