If Brock/Cohen or Garrett gets the job?

Postby wacko4flacco on Wed Jan 16, 2013 11:39 pm

How will you feel if one of these three gets the job?

As for me:

Brock-terribly disappointed (for the choice and what it tells me about the AD)
Cohen- ok, but not thrilled
Garrett- disappointed

I'd be much happier with Garrett than the other 2.

Show me someone with fire in their belly, a lot of enthusiasm, and I'll buy in for any of them. I won't lie that one of the three choices you've mentioned would be somewhat disappointing to me, but I'll still support him and give him a fair and honest chance. I'd love a guy with a great resume and a history of success, but I can look past nearly anything if the new coach can impress me in his press conference with great energy. Win and do it consistently while running a clean program and you'll get a long leash from this critic.

I prefer Cohen. Might be okay with Garrett. Brock would worry me.

I know more about Cohen and what I know about him is positive, so that would be my choice. Garerett could be exciting, but may be a risky choice. I cringe a bit to see Brock's name on the list.

If Brock/Cohen or Garrett gets the job?

I will be surprised

After they make a selection, Ziady said there’s still some things that have to be done before Delaware can name its new coach.

“There’s a process that we would go through here at the university in terms of meeting with various personnel,” he said. “Once that’s completed, I’m going to definitely make sure that the final person has an opportunity to meet with the staff and the team. We have a leadership council on our football team that he’s going to spend some time with as well.”

Will be watching twitter tomorrow; EZ was never mentioned before he showing up on campus the day before the announcement to start meeting people. IMO tomorrow or Friday will be the same.

For me its hands down Cohen. The other 2 I would have NO interest in. But Brock is getting it.

I'm sure that no matter who gets hired, I won't see it as 100% positive. I'll see stuff I like and stuff that's not-so-hot. That was the way I felt when Keeler was hired, and the way I still see his tenure. Like I did with Keeler, I'll give him a couple of years to iron things out before I start to make up my mind.

I'm not going to be excited by names or CV's. It'll get sorted on the field.

Well today is the day. Ziady said a new coach would be in place within 10 days. If true, look for an announcement around noon time.

Saw a while back in the NJ around the 8th or 9th of Jan. I don't have a subscription to the pub.

In fairness, cronyism worked pretty well when we hired Bill Murray (Bob Carpenter's boy from Duke) and Tubby Raymond (Dave Nelson's boy) and, arguably, Blue Hen alum KC Keeler .
