Re: FBS Rules Proposal - Not sure if this is new or how it will impact UD

As "far flung" as the CAA has become (see Campbell, Elon, NCA&T, Maine), Ohio doesn't seem so far away anymore. A smattering of miles and drive times to CAA and MAC opponents: NCA&T 501 miles 8 hours Elon 396 6+ Campbell 409 7 Akron 382 6+ Miami 551 10 Buffalo 370 6+ Ohio 560 9+ Ma...

Re: Concept North Endzone

The concept looks fine, and is more fan friendly.

UMass is an FBS independent with a 17k seat stadium that is not nearly as nice as what we have. Can they survive?

Let's figure out a way to make a move.

Thanks for the link…that link can be followed to an article that is a bit more fun (in my opinion): Agree. More fun and more analytical. Freak Out Factor is a great title. Thanks for the link. Agreed. Sorry for going off topic. Ridiculous of me. Sorry. It is great that we have these writers and sou...

Re: FCS pre-season Top 25 poll by Sam Herder

I agree that much of today's media is pretty sad. Biased talking heads are everywhere, conspiracies are promoted all over the place, and some would say that science is "settled" on certain topics, all to promote agendas. It is best to pay attention to all of it, and try to find what passes...

Re: FCS pre-season Top 25 poll by Sam Herder

News organizations tell stories they think will sell, and to push agendas of the owners. All newspapers did that (and still do). Yessiree. Does anyone not born yesterday think DuPont-held Christiana Securities, who owned & operated the Morning News and Evening Journal until 1978, didn't have ul...

Re: FCS pre-season Top 25 poll by Sam Herder

Since the CAA and CAA Football are two separate entities, I would think that we could stay in the CAA for all sports, except football. An all sports move to the Sunbelt never made sense to me. Adding members to CAA Football, strengthened the conference in case of departures, such as JMU and the (ant...

Re: Potential Sleepers - 2023

I'm curious about incoming freshmen edge rusher Kion Wright and tackle Anwar O'Neal. Anwar is up to around 270 if he can get to 280 and still be nimble he could challenge immediately for playing time on the offensive line. He has very good hands and if not for sitting his senior season out due to r...

Re: CAA Transfer Portal

I feel the best is yet to come with our HC and Staff. I think he learned quite a bit last year, a difficult thing for a new HC made more challenging with new hurdles like the Transfer Portal and NIL. It is obvious to me that this young, dynamic staff is doing everything possible to have success for...

Re: NIL News - UD gets mentioned with the big boys

Speaking of the big boys, is the Pitt game from the Crock era our worst FBS defeat in modern times? I have a feeling September 9 in Happy Valley could top it... That was the worst game ever for me too Bill. It was worse than the score too. Least prepared I've ever seen a Delaware Football team I do...

Re: Game times announced

Feel free to call me a "weirdo", but since I can't control who we play, and love attending UD football, I can make a positive case for each opponent: Stony Brook - They need to be "put in their place", as we have played poorly up there. PSU- Yes a beatdown, but great atmosphere, ...

Re: Transcript from GoHens portion of Monday's Zoom call with Coach Carty

I am 100% certain that this young, energetic staff is absolutely working their azzes off to bring success to our Blue Hens.

And, most importantly, they know what they are doing. #BuckleUp

Re: Transfer Portal Watch

I will definitely support a move to FBS. That said, there is no doubt that UCONN has suffered massive financial losses despite heavy financial support from the wealthy State of Connecticut. Will the tiny State of Delaware financially back a similar effort for UD? i would hope so, but perhaps others ...

Re: Transcript from GoHens portion of Monday's Zoom call with Coach Carty

There was a level of fun and excitement this year, that had been missing for too many years.

Looking forward to what comes next. One thing I am sure of: Ryan and all of his coaches and support staff are working their azzes off to move this program ahead.

Keep (or get) the faith!
