Re: Loudest Moments- UD Stadium

ABC offered Delaware a bunch of dough to play that Colgate game at the Vet, because they needed lighting for the time slot it would have been in. Nelson said, no, Newark will be fine. I can still see Craig Carroll breaking open just before the first td. Colgate’s best player was a kid from Delaware.

Watching games from when we were relevant depresses me.

Re: Live Construction Footage

Yes, the new guy is awful. In his defense, I assume he’s only doing what he’s been told to do, and what damn near every other school in the country does. I would note, though, that LSU has none of that nonsense, and they seem to be doing OK.

Re: Live Construction Footage

It funny how it impossible to think of UD football and not hear Elbert’s voice. He was as mild-mannered and decent a guy as you’d ever meet. He didn’t really want the job, and didn’t really have the voice for it. Somehow, though, it was all glorious.

Re: Hero Sports realignment article has UD in the American

This is always a fun exercise but like we mentioned before, UD partnering with JMU, UConn, UMass should be a given in a new American. I think academic parity still plays into any move. Thus, SDSU and Boise St to the Pac-12, IMO, isn't realistic. BYU really is the only fit. Oh and why would Buffalo ...

Re: Live Construction Footage

I've been trying to get an answer as to whether the new box will also be named for my father for more than two years now. It's kind of a trick question, because the answer I am sure is "no," but I think my mom would like to know that while she's still above ground. Happy pandemic, everyone.

Clint Sintim coached at Delaware? Wow. I loved that guy at UVa. He's in my Chris Slade/Anthony Poindexter Pantheon of Wahoo bad-assery.

Re: Live Construction Footage

I think GF is one of the best posters on here. I think the Bob looks nice from the outside. It seems to be a place where it's hard to generate much atmosphere, but that's true of so many places these days; and, of course, having more people in the place would certainly help. I guess my concern if th...

Re: Live Construction Footage

I'm not a fan. I think the stadium part looks ok, even good, but I'm not a fan of how the brick structure - the front door of the whole thing - connects to the other part. I also don't like that font, which always struck me as the sort of thing Cal-Bakerfield or CW Post would use. It think it's call...

Re: Live Construction Footage

If you had to guess which program beat Virginia Tech last year, and which one scored 3 at Stony Brook, based solely on construction progress, do you think you could do it?

Re: Live Construction Footage

I promise to try and quote the right people from now on. Of course, I was attempting to quote the right person the last time, and we all see how that turned out. Frankly I am now afraid to attempt to quote anyone. I'm a little shaken. The criticism of the YSU yard is legit. The far side looks like a...

Probably going to leave that open for jumpers who are dissatisfied with the conservative play calling against the Hornets.
Do you think they're taking reservations yet?

Re: Live Construction Footage

EXACTLY - from the major stadium jobs I’ve seen, most have the construction equipment is waiting to move in as soon as the parking lot clears after the final game of the season. So tell us why did the UD athletic department wasted at least 1.5 months of good weather??? I’ll wait... 🤔 That's literal...
