Re: Maiden Conference USA seasons vivid proof Blue Hens have to be better

Well, the sensationalized “3 trillion in value” turns out to be 1 percent of corporate franchise revenue. Hardly a crisis. Plus Delaware updated the corporate laws pushed by the Governor and passed unanimously in the Senate and a very, very large majority in the House. So not sure who the “peanut ga...

Re: 2026 Baseball

12 walks in one game is a disgrace at any level let alone the college level. I get it that CUSA is a step up from the CAA, but my God the plate is the same size. Sherman’s offense first philosophy doesn’t look so bad now. Geesh! And UD didn’t hire August because he didn’t represent enough of a chang...

Re: Maiden Conference USA seasons vivid proof Blue Hens have to be better

I do have one wish/suggestion for UD. Improve Men's Basketball. Even though not as important as Football--it does gain eyeballs with a few TV games and can help the conference NET rating and NCAA success with a better team. BB Can bring in some Revenue and media attention. The higher the league's a...

Re: Maiden Conference USA seasons vivid proof Blue Hens have to be better

It always amazes me, however how some Division 3 schools sponsor so many sports: MIT - 32; Williams College - 30 are two examples and both have football. How do they do that? I suspect for these two schools at least that money is no object. If we were D3, we could probably do the same. No scholarsh...

Re: Bliss

fwiw per 24/7 Sports, Bliss is the #38 combo guard and #90 guard overall in the portal. Wonder what the payday is for that? He won’t be a PG for a higher level P4. He just isn’t quick or athletic enough. He will struggle defensively. He could be a decent role playing combo guard for a Rutgers, BC or...

Re: Maiden Conference USA seasons vivid proof Blue Hens have to be better

I am so tired of the repeated ill-informed posts to cut some UD sports. First, some (including me) UD alums, fans, & UD students are fans of many UD sports, follow them in person and/or on-line and even help support them financially as do I. Second, you are limited in what sports you could even...

Re: Maiden Conference USA seasons vivid proof Blue Hens have to be better

Essentially what you would expect. Other than football and a few other sports…men’s soccer, swimming, tennis, women’s lacrosse…our transition out of the CAA has not been very good.... For some sports, our time within the CAA wasn't very good either. Indeed, I don't remember us being a power in thos...

Re: GoHens interview with Jordan Skolnick - Part 3

So, if the Vision “mantra” is - graduating student athletes, help prepare them for life after college, and win championships, when does that third part ever kick in? Asking for a friend. And what the heck does “fit” and “align with our values” mean for corporate sponsors and naming rights? Maybe be...

The AD seems like a great guy who will probably be a very good AD. But winning needs to happen. Especia...

Re: So now what?

Thanks for proving our point. As to the rest, yeah, that's just what this program needs. The thought that our program is in such a losing position that we should be willing to take a chance on a guy based on emotion is not exactly a winner's mindset. That's called settling for blah...the ver...

Re: So now what?

Well, MI was an assistant for 14 years before he became a head coach. Thanks for proving our point. There isn’t much of a risk bringing in a new coach coming off two 20 plus seasons and a sub .500 career record. Brining in an all time great who has been an assistant at bigger time schools, includin...

I said the top priority was to win more. Fans like being associated with a winner. Made some other more minor comments about game day experience.

Re: How long have you been a UD football fan? Poll

First game I vividly remember was the 1966 opener against Hofstra as a 8 year old. My dad and pop pop had been taking me to a few games a year for a couple of years but I don’t remember anything specific. We sat in section J row BB seats 21-23 for years in the “new” grandstand. I don’t remember what...

Re: Spring ball

Of course, winning is the most important thing. But all this stuff matters for a variety of reasons. To have the second FBS spring practice going on at UD, and almost zero media coverage or information coming out of it is ridiculous. With that said, it looks like season ticket holders and donors got...
