Re: Richmond to the patriot league in 2025

While there are the academic and geographical fits for Nova to join the PL, competitively, why would you want to add a program that will likely dominate the league for years. W&M should be a gimmie but if I’m not sure if I’m a PL coach that I’m in for the cats joining. I think Nova recruiting w...

Re: Hens #19 FCS

I can agree with all of that, but I would just add next years off season going into 2025 will be a significant benchmark of how Delaware is going to do their first year in FBS. Has this entire moving up fact really clicked in with the recruiting world? I hope not because if we were going into FBS w...

Re: Hens #19 FCS

With our schedule, anything less than 9-2 should be major cause for concern heading into our first season in CUSA. The coaching staff should feel the pressure to perform at a very high level in '24. WIth all the investment at stake, I'd be shocked if the leash tied to Carty wasn't very short in '25...

Re: Richmond to the patriot league in 2025

A good place for Richmond to land. Despite the perceived obstacles for W and M, the PL would be a good spot for them as well. If it is Nova's intention to remain FCS, it is also a great spot for them. Not sure whatever happened to all the energy Nova channeled toward moving up and into the Big East,...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

I really do respect where you’re coming from but 2 mid-week home games and a helmet color change and you abandon the Hens. Wow. (I’d be surprised if a new helmet scheme is adopted). I hope it doesn’t come to that for you. The helmet change would be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's ...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

Here is an interesting article on the Michigan/Delaware helmet design. The error within it is the claim that UD helmets have a "D" on them. Obviously not true, but the article does present a thorough discussion of the importance of the design Crisler instituted in Michigan in 1938 and Nels...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

I know this move had to happen. Also aware that you need an offer from a FBS conference to move up. There was a lot of talk about potential suitors including the MAC but only CUSA came through. Both of those leagues have weekday football. Not sure about the rest of the G5 teams, but this is the way...

Re: KT's Football Article: 4/12/24

My aunt and uncle and cousins lived in Newark from the 1950's onward. I spent a lot of time in Newark and from a early age read the Wilmington News Journal. Loved it. I still love it so I subscribe to Delaware on Line and still love it. I was born and raised near Reading, Pa. and still live there. A...

Re: Intterview With President Assanis

How many students from outside UD's region are going to want to come to UD and pay out-of-state tuition with limited financial aid? You are going to have to explain why a student from Texas or Tennessee would have more limited financial aid, than the students from New Jersey currently do. Not sure ...

Re: Intterview With President Assanis

While I am aware of the issues Universities face in terms of financial solvency and the challenges of competition from online institutions, community colleges, jucos and the drive towards technical education I think that linking a move up in athletics to beings part of a solution for increasing enro...

Re: 2024 Game Times Announced

I agree that UD will likely be a smaller fish in the overall FBS big pond for the foreseeable future. I do believe UD can rise to the top of CUSA, however the reality of CUSA is that it is a G5 (or whatever the number is now) conference. There will be bowl games for CUSA but not graduation to a P4 s...

Re: 2024 Game Times Announced

For sure 2024 is a soft schedule when you look at 2025. Albany will not be even remotely as strong this year without Puffenberger. Richmond was an enigma to me last year. I watched them lose to Hampton and they looked awful. How they finished where they did is certainly beyond me. I doubt they will ...

Re: 2024 Game Times Announced

I hope and believe that UD can beat anyone on their schedule this year. However 8 wins given the impending move up to FBS would be somewhat concerning. The time to upgrade talent, defensive scheme and coaching began the minute the move to FBS became official. The competition will not drop off next y...

Re: Chrissi Rawak named AD of the Year

Going to be interesting what she does with Carty’s contract? Was his first deal “4 or 5” years? Does she extend early & give him 3 years in FBS? I'm not sure, I give him much more than that in CUSA? Is less than a 3rd place finish in year 3 acceptable? Only time will tell. The timing of Carty's...
