Re: CUSA - October Schedule

I know this move had to happen. Also aware that you need an offer from a FBS conference to move up. There was a lot of talk about potential suitors including the MAC but only CUSA came through. Both of those leagues have weekday football. Not sure about the rest of the G5 teams, but this is the way...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

... I'd prefer it to a Saturday afternoon game with Hampton or Bryant every single time. I agree 100%. Same. Like I've said many times before, I'm all for playing teams with a state in their name. Not schools I have to Google their location, mascot, etc. I know they're not traditional rivals, but D...

Re: Conversation Starter

Sam Dolente (among others who back in the day (1970's) played both FB & Lacrosse)
Kevin Blackhurst (a good Basketball player & a good Baseball player - if not the most recent (1989-1993) notable 2 sports athlete at UD he was among the latest)

Re: 2024 Baseball

Next season is huge for Mamula because (based on class year shown on roster) the team loses 11 seniors including offensive & defensive mainstays Aiden Kane (1B/OF), Tyler Leach (C), Bryce Greenly (OF/P), Jake Dunion (OF), Eric Ludman (1B/DH), Joey Loynd (3B), and Josearmabndo Diaz (C/1B) as well...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

To quote the great Thomas Sowell, "there are no solutions, only tradeoffs." In order to join FBS, this is the trade-off. There was no perfect solution available. I don't like the mid-week games....at all...but it really is a small slate of games that directly impact Delaware and, on avera...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

Wear a coat, dude😉 Yeah October isn't that bad. Still wearing shorts to alot of games during the month HENJOHN, Unless you are one of those strange folks who wear shorts in almost any weather, I doubt that you were wearing shorts to NIGHT games at UD in Oct, except maybe early Oct when the weather ...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

Wear a coat, dude😉 mpwerrell, Cluck U, & Chicken of War, I was only responding to Baldspot's (who lives in Lancaster, PA & therefore should know better but apparently attends games at Liberty in Lynchburg, VA which is in the South) post about night games in October in the SOUTH, where UD is...

Re: New Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach

Further, UMES has one of the worst college athletic programs on the country. Unless & until that changes, I wouldn't hire anyone from UMES. It is very unlikely that Batchelor will be a boost to the UD Women"s Basketball program in any aspect.

No but temps in the 40's to low 50's at night aren't warm either, especially when compared to the temps on Oct or even Nov afternoons when the sun makes it feel warmer than the actual temps.

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

Yep, all the mid-week games are spread between ESPN 2, ESPNU, CBSSportsnet, ESPN+, etc. I want to say WKU got a game on ESPN but I’d have to double check. They are spread Tues, Wed, Thurs and maybe one on Friday. Depends on what the networks say. As indicated by someone, evening games in the south ...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

It took some getting used to for me last year. The big disruption is homecoming. We had ours the first week of Nov. Next fall it will be in Sept. LU had a “Midweek on the Mountain” media blitz with town leaders encouraging locals to attend. I don’t remember the specific numbers but turnout was rela...

New Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach

Announced on bluehens.com that fired and losing UMES HC Fred Batchelor has been hired as Women's Basketball Associate Head Coach. As is almost always the case when UD announces a new hiring, UD ridiculously did not announce who Batchelor is replacing on the staff nor for what job they left UD (assum...

Re: I’m awake - UD to CUSA

Thank You Sir, Choctaw in OK is somewhat high on my list to get to. Multiple WSOP circuit events during the year and they seem to be very well attended. Memorial Day weekend will be my 2nd tourny since NY, 2 day event at Live in Philly. Anyway I think the school would be a nice addition to the leag...

Re: CUSA - October Schedule

Meh...I will go to a couple weeknight games. Tailgating will be tougher, though. But, it frees up those beautiful Saturdays so that Hens fans can go on a walk in the parks, a sail, to the beach (the water is still warm) or watch the kids/grandkids play sports. Win. And watch other College FB games ...
